Texas School Ready is a comprehensive preschool teacher training program that combines ongoing professional development, supplemental curriculum, and child progress monitoring tools. Teachers from child care centers, Head Start programs, and public school pre-kindergarten participate in TSR. Throughout the school year, TSR teachers are provided tools to help them learn more about the specific instructional needs of the children in their classrooms and how to support them using targeted, engaging lessons and activities. The new skills that teachers learn through TSR positively affect the classroom experience for children.
The tools and resources developed for use in TSR are now available to thousands of teachers across the state through an online platform, known as CLI Engage. These tools include the CIRCLE Progress Monitoring System, eCIRCLE Professional Development courses, CIRCLE Activity Collections, and classroom observation tools.
TSR was recently expanded to include a similar suite of tools for teachers and parents of infants and toddlers, and the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment launched on the platform in fall 2017.
