We hope that this year of learning and reflection will jumpstart a way of thinking about professional growth that you can carry with you after the project is done.
You will have been assigned to one of three intervention conditions (self-study, professional learning communities, and remote coaching). We’ve designed it this way so that we can see if different models are better at supporting teachers and how we can deliver the project in cost-effective ways. This webpage houses information relevant to all participants; details about your specific condition will be communicated to you separately, usually via email.
To get started, there are three major components to familiarize yourself with:
As the core content of the project, you will complete one of these brief course modules per cycle. The first session–Understanding Continuous Improvement–is required for all CIT participants. This PLS sets the stage for why continuous improvement is important and the CIT project’s model for supporting it. We encourage you to refer back to it often. The remaining sessions present strategies for quality prekindergarten instruction, videos that demonstrate the strategies, and opportunities to practice them (lessons). Click here to access the CIT professional learning sessions.
The toolkit guides explain the nuts and bolts of the steps in the cycle that you will complete independently. Again, instructions for participating in PLCs or remote coaching calls will be sent to you separately. Always feel free to submit a help ticket if you need help.

The first step in the cycle is using data to figure out how to best prioritize your goals for professional development. This guide includes a worksheet for you to track your data analysis.
This guide walks you through choosing a professional learning session, setting your goals, and recording your action plan–how you will work toward meeting your goals.
During your practice phase in the cycle, you’ll record one lesson and respond to some questions that help you refine your reflective practice. This guide walks you through that process.
To prepare for the next cycle, you’ll update your short-term goals report and complete a short survey on how the cycle went.
On CLI Engage, the TBGS is where you will record your goals, draft action plans, upload videos, and complete video reflection questions. The TBGS can be found on the CLI Engage dashboard, under the green banner for “Quality Improvement and Innovation.” The toolkit guides above include screenshots for how to use the TBGS in each step. If you experience any technical issues or need further assistance, you can submit a help ticket and a client support analyst will contact you shortly.
In case you need a printable reference, we’ve compiled all the strategies of the project into one pdf. These strategies are also accessible through the TBGS, where you will select them as goals for each cycle.
