Featuring resources to support early childhood professionals in all settings, the Professional Learning Sessions Collection includes sessions to support professional learning for educators at all skill and experience levels. The collection also features resources for specialists (an early childhood professional who provides coaching, mentoring and/or training, to support practitioners and other professionals in continuous quality improvement efforts) and administrators to support teachers and future teachers,
The collection includes Child Development Associate (CDA) resources and Career and Technology Education (CTE) lessons. The sessions include lots of great information from CLI Engage, including videos, activities, and classroom materials developed by the Children’s Learning Institute that may be available in other sections of the website. Bringing all these resources together, the collection offers targeted professional learning in specific topic areas.
The Professional Learning Sessions Collection includes a series of professional learning sessions for early childhood professionals pursuing the Child Development Associate® credential. This collection of CDA Resources is highly related to the Circle CDA Training Program that provides all the professional development needed to apply for the CDA, as well as support to develop your professional portfolio. The CDA professional learning sessions provide one-hour overviews for each of the 13 CDA Functional Areas, featuring information from other courses on CLI Engage aligned to each area.
For early childhood professionals and high school students working on the Child Development Associate Credential™, these sessions can be completed on their own, or as introductions or summaries to the Functional Areas while completing other professional development on CLI Engage. Sessions include facilitation guides for administrators, specialists, and high school CTE teachers, and are aligned to the TEKS for the Human Services career cluster.
The Professional Learning Sessions Collection includes a series of early childhood modules designed for high school CTE teachers to use with their students. The modules include extensive video-based demonstrations of effective instructional practices, as well as application-based assignments and activities, covering a broad range of child development and guidance. Although the modules are aligned to the Human Services TEKS, CTE teachers in Education and Training courses can also use the information in the modules to support their students’ learning in early childhood education topics.
