Review our alignment to the Texas Education Agency’s new requirements for school districts and charter schools established in House Bill 3 (86th Texas Legislature, 2019), including how CLI Engage can support your implementation.
CLI Engage features many resources and tools aligned to the Texas Education Agency’s High Quality Prekindergarten Program, established by House Bill 4 (84th Texas Legislature, 2015) and continued through Rider 78 (85th Texas Legislature, 2017).
The ITELGs include guidance on what young children should know and be able to do at different points in their development. It also includes critical information to help parents and caregivers notice these milestones and respond with actions that support each child’s development.
The Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines are based on current knowledge of theory and scientific research about how children develop and learn; they reflect the growing consensus among early childhood professional organizations that a greater emphasis be placed on young children’s conceptual learning, acquisition of basic skills, and participation in meaningful, relevant learning experiences. The guidelines delineate the behaviors and skills that children are to exhibit and achieve, as well as instructional strategies for teachers. For a deeper look into the guidelines, explore CLI’s online training.
