Micro-credentials for early childhood specialists and teachers are now available on CLI Engage! Demonstrate your skills and abilities, known as competencies, to start earning micro-credentials on CLI Engage that lead towards Texas Early Childhood Credentials.

The micro-credentials are part of a Texas Early Childhood Professional Competency-Based Recognition Pathway that includes competencies that all professionals need to demonstrate to serve the early childhood professionals and children they support effectively. Each micro-credential is comprised of badges that are linked to specific, demonstrable skills aligned to the competency areas. Badges are earned by following a clearly defined assignment based on a set of cohesive skills.

Support your professional development in core training competencies and continue in your career as an early childhood trainer by completing the Trainer Micro-Credentials. In addition to this program, consider applying to become a Registered Trainer on the Texas Trainer Registry, a statewide system that approves early childhood trainers and their trainings. The early childhood educator micro-credentials are in development and piloting now with teachers! Currently, we expect to have 9 micro-credentials when the pathway is complete, for infant, toddler, and prekindergarten teachers. Each micro-credential is aligned to the Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners and Administrators:
